It is a reality of being human that we will struggle sometimes. We may be struggling with painful thoughts and feelings, with relationships, or feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
My priority in therapy is to assist my clients in resolving and mediating their immediate presenting mental health challenges. Mental health, however, is not just the absence of symptoms, it can better be described by a state of psychological well-being. Consequently, my second priority is to provide the skills and information that will guide my clients toward resilience and an improved sense of well-being.
While I draw from the many empirically derived therapeutic approaches, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, and as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, I also refer to the concepts and strategies presented in the workbook, "The Artfully Lived Life" (https://www.amazon.com/Artfully-Lived-Life-Creating-Well-Being/dp/B0BB5YL2QX); (theartfullylivedlife.com) which provides unique exercises and activities designed to increase self-awareness and intellectual, emotional, social, physical, and spiritual well-being.
